USDA Secretary Vilsack Visits

On January 14, 2022, our Wheat Ridge location had the honor of hosting USDA Secretary Vilsack and Colorado Department of Agriculture Commissioner Kate Greenberg.

As a recent recipient of the Meat & Poultry Readiness Grant, we were able to share our history and plans to move towards building a more resilient local and regional food system.

This is a very big deal for our little mom and pop shop and none of this would be possible without your continued support and our team's dedication.

As we progress through our 80th year in Wheat Ridge, we will continue to strengthen and build relationships with local producers, we will build a USDA Inspected Slaughterhouse and continue to train and develop our team as whole animal butchers.

Our goal is to be a part of your local food supply from start to finish so we can ensure animals are being raised humanely, our environment is being cared for, producers are receiving a fair value, and you are getting the best quality for the best price.

COMMUNITY FIRST FOUNDATION GRANT

LOCAL PRODUCERS MARKET

We were recently awarded a grant from the Community First Foundation to help build a local community food system. Part of this grant will help us establish a local producer's market. We are currently looking for local food producers who would like to feature their products in our location in Golden or Wheat Ridge. STRENGTHEN PANTRY PARTNERSHPS

Another aspect of this grant will allow us to continue to strengthen our partnerships with local food pantries in Golden. BGOLDN, CAG and Calvary Food Pantry will all be receiving funds from this grant to help feed those neighbors who are the most food insecure.
